This time I decided to hike up the mountain instead of taking the lifts. I had forgotten how much exercise you get with snowshoeing! I'm still reminded of it today by some of my muscles. I had it easy compared to several people who were lugging their camping gear on their backs. I love being out in the elements, but winter camping would be a stretch! I had no problem returning to the Lodge for lunch, where I met up with the boys.

Soaking up the Sun
The freckles in our boys faces are coming out again! We are having a stretch of nice sunny days and are enjoying it while it lasts. On Saturday we hiked up a service road close to home which lead to great views and gave us all a little dose of exercise. We found a nice "brown" patch of grass for a pinic lunch . As Ethan started to eat his sandwich, Nya, our neighbor dog, was way faster and gobbled it up in a few seconds. The look in Ethan's face was priceless! For the first moments he didn't even know what hit him!

A Glimpse of Spring
We enjoyed some really nice weather these past couple of days. It has been nice to feel the warmth of the sun on our faces, not to mention getting our refill of vitamin D. Sunday afternoon was spent at our neighborhood park playing catch, frisbee, tennis and the list goes on. Today being a holiday, we did a repeat of yesterday activities. Tomorrow, despite the forecast for another great day, we go back to routine with school on the schedule. But who knows, maybe we will spend some extra time on P.E., outdoors, of course.
Our Little Actor
Nolan was busy this past week, practicing everyday for a "Robin Hood" production that he took part in. The performance took place this past Saturday and it was a great show. All the 5o+ kids worked really hard during an entire week and it payed off!! The play was a Missoula Theatre Production who sent out 2 amazing directors. Nolan was very excited and had a great time. He came home exausted everyday, but you could see the enthusiasm in his face. Way to go Nolan!!
Can you find Nolan?
Trail in the Woods
We love our "Secret Green Gate Trail". It's just what boys full of energy need, a trail that winds up and down some hills and is full of sticks, ferns and other attractions such as bike jumps and huge logs that the wind has blown down on to the trail. I love to see the boys running along it, having great fun. To make the picture complete, we sometimes "borrow" our neighbor's dog Naya. She too, loves to run free on the trail and Nolan can almost keep up with her. We visit this trail quite often since it's a few blocks (and a couple of hills) from our house, and because our boys always have energy to burn.
