Boys are Back in Town

Last time I blogged I was telling you how I was enjoying having some time with my youngest. I asked him if he was ready for his brothers to return. He said "Not really, I like it being just me and you and dad". I guess he was basking on all the attention and the bit of the spoiling bestowed upon him. We really were ready for them to return, and they came back full of adventures to tell. Hearing about the black bear they spotted and about the tick Nolan extracted from himself, were just the beginning of the tales heard around the dinner table. Here Ethan goes to check out the med vac helicopter with his cub scout den. We have a great neighbor who is a flight nurse, so the boys were able to a first hand tour, inside and out this cool helicopter. After all this fun we met with dad for a cheeseburger lunch.

Time with E

With their backpacks full and spirits high, my two older boys set off to Mt School yesterday. I'm sure they are having a phenomenal time out there. In the meantime, Ethan and I are having a enjoyable time hanging out together. It's kind of rare to have that precious one on one time with your youngest one, so I'm savouring the moment.

Buried but Alive

As I tried to make some progress on my dune climb, I found myself buried! So what's one to do? Have fun playing in the sand and enjoy every step, even though it might be minuscule. I can't believe most of April is already behind us. Here is a little glimpse of how it was spent. How about a different twist on the traditional Egg Hunt, finding eggs in a foot of new snow!
We were not the only ones who thought it would be a fun thing to do. The boys found lots of chocolate, some T-shirts, ski wax and lots of raffle tickets, which despite our high hopes did not crown us with snowboards or backpacks.
Easter was spent with family, meditating and rejoicing on God's great gift to us and Jesus' priceless sacrifice and ultimate victory.
All boys had fun searching for eggs, young and old alike. Do you see Ryan scouting for his prize? Eventually he found it buried in the new sand box he made for Levi's second birthday. I hope those chocolate wraps were sealed tight, nothing like a bit of crunch in your treats.
When the search for eggs was over, it was time to search for tadpoles. If the bigger the better holds true, the kids got the prize for spotting some bullfrog ones. I never seen tadpoles that big! With so many distractions coupled with some poor weather, we did not make up to the Alger Alps again! Ann, just another reason for you to come back to see us and finally finish this hike.
Just when I thought I had stored all of the ski equipment for the last time this season, Baker gets several new inches overnight followed by a clear and sunny day. Shawn and the boys could not pass it up. They finished their season strong.
