All Packed Up . . .

. . . and ready to go away for the weekend. We headed to our favorite camping spot, Fort Ebey State Park. We felt like we still needed to wait for Reyn and his family to meet up with us, since we were first introduced to this beautiful spot by him and have some great memories camping together over there. Never the less, we were happy that the sun finally made an appearance (that lasted all weekend) and hit the road. We had some great times by:
Practicing our knife skills,
Building fires, And of course, food! Wiener roast is always a must. When Christian asked what we were having for dinner and I told them I was going to try a new tofu recipe he was quite distressed! Lucky for him, I did not deviate from our tradition. Salmon roasted on an open fire is part of our camping tradition as well, yummy!! FATHER'S DAY

How else would one want to spend Father's day? Surrounded by his boys in this beautiful spot on a sunny day! Thank you for being such a great father and role model to our kids, we love you.

CHRISTIAN'S BIRTHDAY Just like 11 years ago, we celebrated Christian's birthday on Father's Day Sunday. It's our tradition to leave a birthday gift on the kitchen table. Christian thought he would have to wait until the afternoon to open his, but, lucky for him, again I kept our traditions and there was a gift waiting for him in morning. He did however, have to wait to play his game until later in the afternoon when we got home. The DS definitely did not make it on our camping trip,

A chocolate chip muffin in the morning will certainly count as a cake. Bacon and eggs came later with wild rice soup for dinner, birthday boy's menu wishes.

We had a great weekend relaxing and enjoying each other's company. This morning the fog covered the ocean, can you tell where one ends and the other begins?

Happy birthday, Christian! I remember where I was when we received the call from your dad saying that you had arrived. We were so glad to have you in our Sam's life for his first 4 years. Have a great year!
