We went for a walk on Lake Lousie to check on our ducks that we have been tracking since fall, but found ice instead. What a delight for the boys! There were still a few hardy mallards and buffleheads left, the rest must have fled south as the ice crept in. Of course we had fun throwing rocks which slid on the ice, breaking the ice with sticks and best of all, walking "on water". I was ready to take home some boys with wet and cold feet, but we were lucky, no breakthroughs.
